Happy 50th Birthday Croziers Electrical! This year is a special year for Croziers Electrical, proudly celebrating the milestone of our 50th year in operation. What an achievement to be part of. In today's business world where the big multinationals rule, it is such a success to see a small family owned business continue for this many years.
Noel Crozier started Croziers Electrical contracting business in 1967. It was the same year that Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared while swimming, the postcode system of postal address coding was introduced throughout Australia, General Motors Holden exported its 100 000th car and launched its first compact sedan, the Torana. The Seekers were named Australian of the year, Normie Rowe won the inaugural King of Pop award and Johnny Farnham released 'Sadie the Cleaning Lady'. What a year it was.
Croziers Electrical first started as a home based business in Spencer Street, Gatton. Noel had a long life connection to electricity, his Father was a foreman with the Electricity Board and was in charge of the project that brought power to the Lockyer Valley in 1931. In 1984 Croziers Electrical moved to 43 Old College Road (where the bottle Shop is now). Noel's wife Gwen opened a lighting store here to compliment the business. There was also a move to 79 Cochrane Street, which is currently Burstows Funeral Home. I actually remember driving down Whittle Street with my family when I was a child and seeing the lighting store shining bright at the end of the road in Cochrane Street. The store was full of sparkling chandeliers. In 1996 the business then moved to its current location in the heart of Gatton's main street, at 37a Railway Street.
Current owner Michael Crozier completed his apprenticeship with his Father Noel, which actually makes Michael a third generation electrician. Michael has attained his advanced diploma of electrical engineering, making him one of the highest qualified electricians in the Lockyer Valley. Michael is extending his wealth of knowledge onto fourth year apprentice Joe Hallas. The boys can help you with all electrical needs. Whether it be replacing a power point or wiring a shed, all aspects of electrical contracting are offered.
The lighting store provides all aspects of lighting and also has a small range of gift ware. We are a specialist lighting store supplying pendants, down lights, ceiling and wall light fittings, exterior light fittings, LED flood lights, table and desk lamps and a wide range of light bulbs and fluro tubes. Throughout the years there has been many changes in the industry. Changes still continue especially with light bulbs. With the introduction of LED there is always something new and exciting being released.
How does a business survive 50 years in operation? Great staff, great suppliers and great customers is the answer and of course a lot of hard work. We are here because of you - the customer. Croziers Electrical provide experience with expert knowledge and great customer service but at the end of the day if we didn't have great customers we would not be here. So thank you for supporting our local independent business and helping us reach this milestone. Here's to 50 years and many more.
